We loved working with the bride on the overall design for her wedding at Cherokee Ranch and Castle in Sedalia, Colorado. Jenny knew she liked rustic touches but needed help to create an overall vision, source the perfect details and recommend a few decor professionals who could implement the vision we created together.

The wedding turned out perfect and we are so happy we had the opportunity to design this gorgeous Colorado wedding!

Statice Floral did an amazing job with floral design. Thank you to Tess Polivka Photography for sharing these lovely photos.

Our Favorite Things | Colorado Ranch Weddings

SpruceMountainRanchWedding-5

In the western beauty that is the state of Colorado, we are lucky to have the stunning Rocky Mountains and the rolling fertile plains, and often the biggest, bluest skies you can find. Some of our favorite things are Colorado ranch weddings, where all of your guests can really appreciate and enjoy the scenery. Here are a few of our go-to venues for the Colorado Ranch Wedding:

Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding | Kate and Chris

I always love looking back at client pictures after the wedding. When I was looking through these I was reminded of how much fun we had during the planning process. Kate and Chris were quite possibly one of the funniest couples I have ever worked with. From discussions of pirate cakes to beers in the welcome bags, to extreme activities before the wedding, the planning process was filled with laughter and fun.

Kate and Chris wanted to create a true destination experience for their guests, from white water rafting, to zip lining, to fly fishing, to a volleyball game, their guests had a full Colorado experience. I am not going to lie, when they told me they wanted to do all of these things I thought it would be fun and then I thought about the bruises from rafting, possibility of people going overboard, the sunburns from volleyball and the possible mishaps with zip lining. I told them it sounds like a blast but I expect all of them to be in one piece on the day of the wedding. They all made it to the wedding with some sunburns, a few bruises and more importantly, lots of amazing stories to tell about the activities, including the bride falling out of the raft!

When it came to the wedding Kate wanted to merge rustic touches with a bit of elegance and wanted her guests to have an amazing time. We used the beauty of Devil’s Thumb Ranch to inspire the design. We kept the linens simple but ordered custom made damask napkins that we wrapped in twine for a bit of a modern/rustic touch. The amazing florals from Statice Floral were mainly white soft flowers with pops of bright anemones throughout. The tables were named after places that were important to Kate and Chris. Both the escort cards and table numbers had a faint image of the mountains. Statice Floral also hung almost 100 candle-lit mason jars from the ceiling and around the room to bring a bit of sparkle to the evening. We added hanging floral designs from the ceremony to add a bright touch to the natural landscape.

Guests enjoyed a three course seated dinner expertly prepared by the chefs at Devils Thumb Ranch followed by cake from Kelly Kakes. While Chris didn’t get his pirate cake, he did get a cake shaped like a glass of Guinness complete with cake soaked in Guinness.

Guests danced the night away to live music from the Filthy Children band. This group kept the party going at the Hex bar well into the morning! Thank you to Document the Day for capturing this couple perfectly.

While we all love traditional pictures, I had to include a collage that shows Kate and Chris’ amazing love, sense of humor, and fantastic personalities. It was a pleasure being able to help create their perfect day. We wish them a lifetime of love, laughter and family!

Aspen Wedding Planner | Snowmass Valley Ranch

We planned and designed a lovely and colorful vintage rustic wedding at Snowmass Valley Ranch near Aspen, Colorado. The table runners were custom made from vintage fabric and inspired much of the overall event design including the cake and all of the beautiful florals. The ceremony took place at the ranch in front of a beautiful mountain pond. Guests sat on hay bales with comfortable cushions while enjoying the gorgeous mountain view during the ceremony.  After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn complete with hay bale lounges and a very fun photo booth. The Mexican-inspired reception dinner was served family style in a gorgeous white tent on the front lawn. After dinner, guests enjoyed dancing to the live band and enjoyed the stunning cakes and an ice cream bar. This wedding was an enormous undertaking with many challenges. We are not permitted to share the professional wedding photos but wanted to share a few of these non-pro images. We would like to thank the incredible vendors who went above and beyond to make this event possible:

Chatfield Gardens Wedding | Leslie & Jamie

Leslie and Jamie were married at the adorable Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. An old windmill on the property provided the pinwheel design inspiration and a perfect backdrop for the comfortable BBQ-style wedding. Details such as apple baskets, mason jars, sunflowers, burlap, BBQ food, a tower of cupcakes, and a fountain of handmade pinwheels hanging behind the dessert table projected the colorful, pastoral atmosphere the couple wanted. After the gorgeous ceremony, guests met the evening’s reception with local beers, signature cocktails (created by a friend), and dancing outside of the charming red barn. We are so proud to have worked with Leslie and Jamie on this fun and vibrant event that truly matched their vision. Thank you to Western Skies Photography for sharing images of their day with us!
