Denver Baby Shower Planners | Brynn’s Baby Shower

I am a wedding planner, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that I tried to plan my pregnancy as well! I really wanted to have our kiddo to be born in the spring so that I could still take part in wedding season. My husband said this was not something that I could plan… little did he know, that my pregnancy came about exactly as planned! From the beginning, my husband wanted to leave the gender of the baby a surprise. Because I am such a planner, it took me a while to come around to the idea of being in-the-dark about whether we were having a boy or girl. In the end I am glad that we waited; it was a great moment to find out that we had a little girl! That being said, it was a huge challenge for Laura and Ann to do a unique gender neutral baby shower.
Ann and Laura created a party that was perfectly me. My mother-in-law spent 7 months hand quilting an AMAZING nursery rhyme quilt for baby Emma, it served as the inspiration for the whole party. Laura is a doctor and Ann is a computer specialist so planning a baby shower was not really in their wheelhouse. I was blown away by their thoughtful detail, great food, and fun non-cheesy games.
They made signs for the food that played perfectly with the nursery rhyme theme, had baby shower bingo (which was a big hit) and tested the guests knowledge of classic nursery rhymes with a fill in the blank game! Each guest took time to create a custom onesie or big for baby Emma. I think the one thing I will always remember about my shower is how genuinely happy everyone was, the funny stories, and the love that I felt for me and baby Emma. When I was looking through the amazing pictures from fabulous photographer and friend, Gina, I couldn’t help but notice all of the laughter and how happy everyone was.
I could not ask for a better group of people to celebrate my shower with. Laura and Ann pulled of a flawless baby shower. Special thank you to Gina, Jason + Gina Photographers for taking pictures and to Rachael of Intricate Icings for the amazing cake.
Emma Lynn Swanson was born on April 9, 2013. I can’t thank Ann and Laura enough for all their hard work, thoughtfulness and love.
For the record I think only three people over the 9 months thought that I was having a girl, everyone else was convinced it was going to be a boy. Just goes to show you that the world has amazing surprises in store for all of us!

Gabby from Save the Date Events had a baby!

We couldn’t have been happier for Gabby’s wonderful news that she was due with her first baby. Of course, throwing her shower was one of the first things on our mind!

Her adorable shower took place at the House of Common Tea house in downtown Denver. The overall style was elegant, soft, whimsical, and stylish incorporating gray pinstripes, tissue paper pom poms, elegant cream linens, and a touch of mercury glass. Her cake was a meld of pinstripes and pom poms along with a cute little banner at the top honoring baby Hudson.

And a side note – the last few pictures are of three wedding planners at a loss on how to cut a cake. The slices ended up being huge and there was cake all over the place! Needless to say, it was utter devastation…

A note from Gabby: Hudson Paul Greenleaf was born on December 22, 2012 to some very happy people! Jason and I are thrilled to have such a cute little boy – it may be a cliche, but there is honestly no greater love than the love between a mom and her child.

Party Planning in Denver | Wine Inspired Dinner Party

We were asked to help plan a dinner to honor hard-working employees at one of our client’s companies. They wanted to treat their employees and their significant others to a wonderful night of food and wine as a thank you for all the hard work they do.  We came up with  “A Night in Tuscany” theme because it is one of our client’s favorite places to vacation, not to mention the region’s fabulous food and wine. Custom wine bottles served as invitations and were hand-delivered to each guest’s home.

We wanted the guests to feel like they were sitting in a Tuscan garden with a few of their closest friends enjoying an authentic Italian dinner. For cocktail hour, guests indulged in a selection of passed Hors d’Oeuvres and enjoyed a blind wine tasting from a professional sommelier. Fresh potted herbs from Plum Sage and extra veggies and breads from Footers Catering made up the true farm-to-table centerpiece that sat on top of a vintage burlap and lace runner that brought in a touch of old world charm. The potted herbs not only smelled fantastic, but served as place cards. Guests took their seat and enjoyed a three course meal featuring squid ink pasta, Italian cioppino, and ricotta cheesecake. Each course was served with a hand-selected wine pairing that complimented the food perfectly. Guest enjoyed fantastic food and wine well into the evening. It was a true pleasure creating a little piece of Tuscany in Colorado!

Party Planner in Denver | Luxury Baby Shower

We worked the hostess for two months to design and create this lovely baby shower in Denver. After analyzing so many details about the mom-to-be, we decided on a lime and fuchsia color scheme with subtle hints of leopard accents and a bit of bling.

We searched for the perfect designer fabric and settled on the gorgeous silk fuchsia and lime plaid fabric to create custom table runners. We used this pattern on the cake design as well. The place settings were gorgeous with custom menu cards, fuchsia napkins and a bling buckle accent with ribbon. Guest chairs were accented with vertical fuchsia chair ties. Guest went home with custom gift bags and OPI nail polish accented with leopard-print ribbon.

The guest of honor is a fitness fanatic so we wanted to keep the menu light but fun. We worked with the restaurant to create a lovely healthy appetizer display with fruit sushi, smoothie shooters and mini yogurt parfaits. For lunch, guests chose from a menu of healthy seafood salads and gourmet sandwiches.

The cake was an important design element for this Denver baby shower. Along with incorporating the pattern from our custom linens, the cake designer created a sugar figurine of the expectant mom! The hostess, guests and mom-to-be raved all day about this stunning cake.

Halloween Party Ideas

We were honored to be featured on Fox 31 News, Channel 7 News, 9 News AND on Channel 2 in the past month! We shared many fun ideas for fall and Halloween entertaining and party ideas.

Here are a few of our super easy do-it-yourself projects you can create:

Draw adorable pumpkin faces on oranges or on mandarin orange cups for your kiddos or to pass out on Halloween. Use Halloween party sprinkles to add style to your candle holders. Print the word “EEK” (or BOO) on individual sheets of vellum paper and wrap around cylinder vases with candles inside! We used two layers of vellum to create this look with a layer of gold over top of a damask print vellum.

Consider decorating your pumpkins with ribbon instead of carving them. Print a fun sign on your home computer that says “If you are reading this sign then you are blissfully unaware of what is creeping up behind you” or print the words “BOO” in a fun font and place in photo frames you already have at home. You can download a free Halloween font from Fill vases with candy corn, coffee beans and corn to make fun centerpieces with candles. Add pipe cleaner legs and googly eyes to your mini pumpkins then cut out the top and put a candle inside for a fun centerpiece, kid’s craft or party decoration!

Cookie cutters aren’t just for cookies! Use them to cut fun shapes with cheese, watermelon, bread or luncheon meat. Cut out a large pumpkin, fill with ice and use it to keep drinks cold at your Halloween party. Serve apple cider inside a cored apple and accent with a cinnamon stick! Make those Halloween cupcakes with fun spider webs by simply drawing 3 circles on top of the frosting with black piping gel (the circles should look like a target) then pull a toothpick in a straight line from the center circle through the icing and past the outside circle. Repeat until you have a spider web on top.

Fall Entertaining Ideas | Channel 2 Live News Segment

This morning, we did a live segment on Fox Channel 2 news in Denver with easy fall home decor and entertaining ideas! One of the overall details we shared is to add non-traditional fall colors to your table and home decor. We chose a vibrant teal accent linen to really make our fall decor “pop”. Shades of blue and green are perfect colors to accent the traditional fall color palettes.

Here are a few of the fun ideas we shared on the news:

Simple table centerpiece – Use a wine bottle and small tin can (from soup or a canned vegetable), cover the labels with fall-inspired scrapbook paper, glue together with glue dots or double-sided tape. Then add real or faux flowers along with a pillar candle wrapped with jute or twine and you have an easy centerpiece for a dinner party, girl’s night or just a fun way to decorate your dining room table.

Office organizer – Use a larger tin can and wrap fall-inspired scrapbook paper around the can for a simple way to store pens, pencils or kid’s markers.

Inside-out caramel apples – Cut off the top of an apple and hollow out the center. Fill it with caramel syrup and dip apple slices in the caramel. This is fantastic for a party or just as a fun afternoon snack for the kiddos. You can also use slices of apples to accent hot apple cider or a hot tea before serving to your guests.

Home decor or large centerpiece – Purchase glass vases at the craft store or even at your local dollar store. We used larger cylinder vases but you could use smaller vases or square vases as well. Fill up the vases with leaves, pinecones, acorns and pumpkins. Add wood letters (available at your local craft store) and you have a gorgeous and inexpensive centerpiece. Our vases spelled out “thanks” but you could easily do “Halloween”, “Thanksgiving” or your last name.
